Each Cake Smash Photoshoot in our Charleston, SC Portrait Studio is completely custom! After booking, I will send over my Client Prep Guide to help you prepare for your session and we will schedule a Pre-Session Consultation either on the phone or in person if you'd like to visit the studio! During this pre-session planning conversation, we'll discuss your ideas for theme and your preferences regarding color pallet for your child's Cake Smash Portraits! After the consultation, I will get to work designing your child's custom Cake Smash Portrait set based on your preferences for theme and / or color pallet.

THE cake smash EXPERIENCE
I will take care of procuring everything that is needed for the photoshoot including special backdrops, props, balloon garlands, cake stands, smash cake and even wardrobe, if you don't have something specific in mind for the shoot! All you have to do is show up on the day of your portrait session ready to make that little one laugh! Each Cake Smash Session begins with Milestone Portraits of your child, then we'll move into parent portraits with your child if you would like . After the portraits are finished, we shoot the Cake Smash Photos followed by a splash bath photos of your baby, if you would like!
All that is required to reserve a Cake Smash Portrait Session date on my shoot calendar is a signed portrait contract and a non-refundable $300 Creative Fee.
This fee includes custom set design, all necessary props (including backdrops, props, balloon garlands, cake stands, smash cake and even wardrobe if you don't have something specific in mind up for your child's birthday session). Lastly, this fee pays me for my time and talent to shoot your session, to edit your images and to deliver an online proof gallery within 7 days of your portrait session.After your proof gallery has been delivered, you will have 7 days with your online gallery to choose either an Heirloom Print Collection or to Order from the A La Carte Product List. There is an $800 minimum print investment.

I can only accept a maximum of 5 children for Cake Smash Portraits each month. Because of this my availability is limited and I would encourage you to book your Cake Smash Photoshoot as soon as possible. Most parents book their child's Cake Smash Sessions at least a month in advance so that we have adequate time to plan and prepare for the session! My shoot calendar fills up quickly. It is important to schedule as soon as possible to ensure my availability for your child's Birthday Photoshoot in Charleston.
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK YOU?
Most parents already have something in mind that they would like their children to wear for their Milestone / Cake Smash Portrait Session. If you have no idea what you want your child to wear for this portrait session, you're in luck!
I have a small client closet for children with limited sizing up to 12 months. We can discuss your ideas for this session and I can either help guide you in selecting wardrobe for your child's Cake Smash Portrait Session OR you can borrow something from my client closet!
WHAT DO the need to WEAR?
Cake Smash Portrait Sessions are photographed in my Charleston Photography Studio where I have studio lighting, backdrops, tons of props, balloon garlands, cake stands, a client closet and smash cakes for your little one!
whERE DO We SHOOT?
I always recommend scheduling as soon as possible. Having at least a month ahead of your scheduled portrait session allows us time to plan for your session and to procure and specialty prop items needed for your child's Cake Smash Portrait Session.
WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY
Child's milestone SESSION?
Cake Smash Portrait Sessions happen in my studio. This is my preference as I have everything I need to make your session dreams come true, right at my finger tips! I also control the light and environment to produce images that are in line with my portfolio and that I know you will love.
do you travel?
Your Cake Smash Portrait Session Proofs will be delivered within 7 days of your portrait session via Pixieset, a private, password protected online proof gallery.
Once your gallery has been delivered, you will then have 7 days with your proof gallery to choose either an Heirloom Print Collection or to order from the A La Carte Product List.

Once I hear from you, that you are ready to move forward with booking your Portrait Session, I will send over a Portrait Contract to sign and send back online (via adobe sign) and an invoice for your Creative Fee (via quickbooks). Once both of these administrative pieces have been returned, I will add your preferred shoot date to my shoot calendar and send my Client Prep Guide so that we can begin planning for your child's Cake Smash Photoshoot!
