Nothing can prepare you for how quickly your baby will grow! Those first months will pass by in a haze. The days seem long but the weeks and months fly by! Eventually, you'll return to work and life will get hectic and all those intentions you had about documenting your baby's growth during those first years might become less of a priority. Babies grow into toddlers (who are on the move, with some big feelings and irrational opinions!) and it happens in the blink of an eye!

THE MILESTONE EXPERIENCE
Trust me when I tell you, you'll want beautiful Milestone Portraits from this time, so that years from now, you can recall with clarity, every tiny, perfect, little detail of your sweet baby and their personality as they grew.
Milestone Portraits are typially scheduled at 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and 12 months. If you would like to get ahead of scheduling and want to book all four sessions at once, you will receive a $200 discount on Creative Fees for those sessions!

All that is required to reserve a Milestone or Cake Smash Portrait Session date on my shoot calendar is a signed portrait contract and a non-refundable $300 Creative Fee.
This fee includes custom set design, all necessary props (including balloon garland and smash cake for birthday sessions) as well as access to our small client closet for children. This fee also pays for any special prop items ordered specifically for your child's custom Milestone or Cake Smash Portrait Session. Lastly, this fee pays me for my time and talent to shoot your session, to edit your images and to deliver an online proof gallery within 7 days of your portrait session.After your proof gallery has been delivered, you will have 7 days with your online gallery to choose either an Heirloom Print Collection or to Order from the A La Carte Product List. There is an $800 minimum print investment.

I can only accept a maximum of 5 children for Milestone Portraits each month. Because of this my availability is limited and I would encourage you to book your Milestone Portraits or Cake Smash Photoshoot as soon as possible. Most parents book their Milestone or Cake Smash Sessions at least a month in advance so that we have adequate time to plan and prepare for the session! My shoot calendar fills up quickly. It is important to schedule as soon as possible to ensure my availability for your child.
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK YOU?
Most parents already have something in mind that they would like their children to wear for their Milestone and/or Cake Smash Portrait Sessions. If you have no idea what you want your child to wear for this portrait session, you're in luck!
I have a small client closet for children with limited sizing from 3 months - 1year. We can discuss your ideas for this session and I can either help guide you in selecting wardrobe for your child's portrait session OR you can borrow something from my client closet!
WHAT DO I WEAR?
Milestone Portrait Sessions can be photographed outdoors, on-location or in my Charleston Portrait Studio.
Cake Smash Portrait Sessions are photographed in my Charleston Baby Photography Studio where I have studio lighting, backdrops, tons of props, balloon garlands and smash cakes for your little one!
whERE DO We SHOOT?
I always recommend scheduling as soon as possible. Having at least a month ahead of your scheduled portrait session allows us time to plan for your session and to procure and specialty prop items needed for your child's Milestone or Cake Smash Portrait Session.
WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY
Child's milestone SESSION?
Cake Smash Portrait Sessions happen in my studio. This is my preference as I have everything I need to make your session dreams come true, right at my finger tips! I also control the light and environment to produce images that are in line with my portfolio and that I know you will love.
Milestone Portrait Sessions can happen outdoors, on-location in and around Charleston. My service area includes all of Charleston County. If you would like me to travel outside of Charleston County for your on-location Milestone Portrait Session, my travel fee is $2 per mile, round trip.

Your Milestone Session Proofs will be delivered within 7 days of your portrait session via Pixieset, a private, password protected online proof gallery.
Once your gallery has been delivered, you will then have 7 days with your proof gallery to choose either an Heirloom Print Collection or to order from the A La Carte Product List.

Once I hear from you, that you are ready to move forward with booking your Portrait Session, I will send over a Portrait Contract to sign and send back online (via adobe sign) and an invoice for your Creative Fee (via quickbooks). Once both of these administrative pieces have been returned, I will add your preferred shoot date to my shoot calendar and send my Client Prep Guide so that we can begin planning for your child's Milestone Portrait Session!
