A third generation photographer, I grew up in a home with beautiful, old black & white portraits lining our walls & filling our drawers. I think I've always loved faces, relationships & artistic storytelling because of it. After graduate school, I moved home, opened my portrait company and never looked back! I can only accept a maximum of 5 children for Cake Smash Portraits at the studio each month (in addition to the other types of sessions I shoot there.) Because of this, my availability is limited and I would encourage you to book your Milestone and/or Cake Smash Photoshoot as soon as possible. Most parents book their child's Cake Smash Sessions at least a month in advance so that we have adequate time to plan and prepare for the session! My shoot calendar fills up quickly. It is important to schedule as soon as possible to ensure my availability for your child's Birthday Photoshoot in Charleston.
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK YOU?
Most parents already have something in mind that they would like their children to wear for their Milestone / Cake Smash Portrait Session. If you have no idea what you want your child to wear for this portrait session, you're in luck!
I have a client closet for children with sizing up to 12 months. We can discuss your ideas for this session and I can either help guide you in selecting wardrobe for your child's Milestone and/or Cake Smash Portrait Session OR you can borrow something from my client closet!
WHAT DO the need to WEAR?
Milestone and Cake Smash Portrait Sessions are photographed in my Charleston Photography Studio where I have backdrops, studio lighting, tons of props (even a miniature claw foot tub for splash baths after the smash!), balloon garlands, tiny cake stands, a client closet and smash cakes for your little one!
whERE DO We SHOOT?
I always recommend scheduling as soon as possible. Having at least a month ahead of your scheduled portrait session allows us time to plan for your session and to procure any specialty prop items needed for your child's Cake Smash Portrait Session.
WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY
Child's milestone SESSION?
Not for Cake Smash Portrait Sessions. This is my preference because I have everything that I need to make your Milestone and/or Cake Smash Portrait Session dreams come true, right at my finger tips! I also control the environment and the light at the studio to produce images that are in line with my portfolio, that I know you will love!
do you travel?
You will be invited back to the studio or an onlinr proof gallery will be delivered within 7 days of your portrait session.
If you opt for an online gallery, you will then have 7 days with your proof gallery to us your $800 Credit to choose either an Heirloom Print Collection and/or to order from the A La Carte Product List.
HOW LONG until we GET PROOFS?
All that is required to reserve your Milestone and/or Cake Smash Portrait Session date on my shoot calendar is a signed portrait contract and a non-refundable $1200 Session Fee. You will have an $800 Credit to use toward your total artwork purchase after your session proof gallery has been delivered.
