Professional Newborn Photographs are essential because they beautifully preserve one of the most fleeting seasons of your child’s life — the tiny details, sleepy stretches, and brand new features that change in just a matter of weeks. Those first weeks with your infant are often a blur for many parents and professional newborn photos become the precious, tangible heirlooms that will allow you to relive the emotion, connection, and overwhelming love of welcoming your baby into the world and into your family.
Most Newborn Sessions happen at my Newborn Photography Studio (Holy City Babies) located in the Avondale neighborhood of Charleston at 1020 Savannah Hwy. The studio is beautiful, comfortable and well appointed for your family & your baby's Newborn Portrait Session.
where do we shoot?
not the right time for you?
The best time for Newborn Portraits is between days 12 - 15 after birth. Not only does this give you a couple weeks at home to recover & establish a rhythm at home before I ask you to come out to the studio but also -- typically by this time jaundice has cleared, feeding issues have been resolved, baby acne has come and gone and baby will have had time to heal from any procedures after birth.
when will we shoot?
Your Baby's Newborn Portrait Session Proofs will be delivered within 7 days of your Baby's Portrait Session. You can either schedule an in-person ordering appointment at the studio or I can deliver an online proof gallery if that feels more supportive!
HOW LONG UNTIL WE SEE PROOFS?
I am happy to photograph your new baby in the comfort of your home if that feels more supportive for you! However it's important that you understand that an in-home, lifestyle newborn session looks very different than a studio session because we'll be shooting without props, studio lighting or set styling. Please reach out if you would like to discuss this further!
what about in-home newborn sessions?
I can only accept a maximum of 5 families for Newborn Portraits each month. Most parents book their baby's Newborn Portrait Session around 25-30 weeks and thus my shoot calendar fills up quickly. Its important to schedule as soon as possible to ensure my availability for your baby!
